Online gambling continues to reach new records in New Jersey, long after the pandemic gave the industry a massive boost.

In July 2023, NJ Internet casinos already passed the $1 billion mark for the year, reflecting over 14% higher than the same period of 2022.
Last Wednesday, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement released the revenue figures for July 2023, showing internet casinos in the state generated $155 million in revenue, an incredible increase of 13.5% compared to July 2022.
Even compared to June’s revenue, July is 4% higher, and it is the seventh consecutive month where internet casinos in the state collected over $140 million.
Internet Casinos Account for Over 30% of the State’s Revenue
Excluding the revenue from online sports betting, internet casinos account for 36.8% of the gambling revenue in New Jersey.
While the rise of iGaming increased fairly over the ten years of legal internet casinos in the state, 2023 shows the most remarkable numbers and growth, setting new records multiple times within the first six months.
Other legal iGaming states such as Pennsylvania, also show a drastic increase in revenue figures for 2023. PA internet casinos show a massive 24% increase when comparing July 2022 to last month. Smaller states, such as Connecticut, collected $28.2 million in revenue during July 2023, up a staggering 40.8% compared to the $16.7 million generated in July 2022.
Across the legal iGaming states in the US, it’s become clear that the preferred way to play is internet casinos, long after the lockdown regulations from the pandemic have lifted.
