Online gambling company Kindred has partnered with the Swinomish Tribe in Washington, laying the groundwork for entry into its seventh US state.
Subject to licensing and regulatory approvals, the six-year agreement will see Kindred and Swinomish launch the Unibet & Swinomish Sportsbook at Swinomish Casino & Lodge, Anacortes, Washington. The deal also provides the possibility of extending the Kindred-Swinomish partnership for an additional five-year term.
“We are very excited to expand our footprint in the US, and to do so together with the Swinomish tribe. The opening of a Sportsbook Lounge at the Swinomish Casino and Lodge will allow us to offer a best-in-class sports betting experience.”
Manuel Stan, SVP of North America, Kindred Group
Sports betting was legalised in Washington in 2020, but those wanting to bet can only do so either in-person at a tribal casino, or via mobile betting from tribal land.
Malta-based Kindred currently serves more than 30 million customers across nine brands globally. In the US, it now has licences in Arizona, Indiana, Iowa, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. North of the border, it is licensed in Ontario, Canada.
