Greetings!
For this month's podcast I
interview blackjack and poker expert Arnold Snyder about
how a player can learn to become a professional player
at those two casino games.
We also have more details
on our upcoming "meet & greet" event in Las
Vegas on March 9. It should be a lot of fun and we look
forward to meeting you there.
Our "Casino Profile" feature takes a
look at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in
Hollywood, Florida, plus we have two new gambling
articles.
The first, by video poker
author, Linda Boyd, gives tips for going on a
casino coupon run to take advantage of some good coupon
offers. The other article, by syndicated gaming
writer, John Grochowski, discusses how a gambler's
playing style can increase or lessen the volatility
in any casino game.
Don't forget that as a subscriber to our
newsletter you are eligible to enter a private poker
tournament each month with over $1,200 in prize money.
It's absolutely FREE with no money required to enter.
Look in the column on the left side for more
info.
And finally, be sure to vote for your
favorite casinos for your chance to win one of 10
autographed copies of next year's American Casino Guide.
Details are below.
We hope you enjoy these
articles and we thank you for your interest in the
American Casino Guide!

Casino Coupon Runs
By Linda Boyd
There's been lots of
grumbling lately about the downgrading of both video
poker and table games. The fact that most good plays
have evaporated can't be denied, even for
talented players in games requiring skill.
You can grab some of the
expected return (ER) back by making the most of casino
coupons and promotional offers. In fact, the
term, "coupon run," has entered the lexicon of advantage
players and it refers to the speedy redemption of the
most valuable coupons by rushing from
casino-to-casino.

Volatility in Casino
Games
by John
Grochowski
When we talk "volatility" in casino games, we're
often talking about electronic games. Reel-spinning slot
machines concentrate more of their returns in fewer big
wins than video slot machines, which bring more frequent
small wins. The reel-spinners are more volatile.
Same deal in video poker. House edges are similar
on 9-6 Jacks or Better (99.5 percent) and 9-5 Super
Double Bonus Poker (99.7), but Super Double Bonus is
much more volatile.
