Emerald Queen Casino at I-5: least pleasant of all indian casinos in Washington

This place is so crowded with old machines it is not pleasant during the lightest of times. It is smokey, dirty, lacking in service, has no tracking available in the slots area, comps must be eaten totally within the resturant, no, doggy bags.

Attitudes (bad) seem to reign supreme. while there are many handicapped parking spaces, most are at the farthest part from most of the casino. Valet parking is only convienent for the showroom and lounge. For casino they are at the opposite end of the casino and a considerable walk down and up a ramp to the gaming areas and table games. It is not a friendly place for persons with physical handicaps.

Emerald Queen Casino at I-5: EQC- OK

I don't think I have eaten at EQC, but we used to go to the boat when my sister's in-laws were in town.

There was a Haywire machine by the cashier that I could always win on. I'd put in $20 and walk out with anywhere from $60 to $300 everytime. Depending on how brave I was to keep playing once I started winning.

Casino at I-5 is VERY smokey.

Did go for a Johnny Lang concert, thought the tickets were reasonable and the concert was great. Concert venue was not fancy by any stretch of the imagination.

Prefered not to play here since no players club, but now that has changed, I might have to give them a try again. Still, I hate that they are so smokey. Darn.

Please disregard my ratings for table games, customer service, player's club, ammenities and food and drink. I was required to rate these even though I haven't used them.

Emerald Queen Casino at I-5: A large casino without much to offer

This is close to being the 2nd biggest casino in Washington State (Tulalip might be about the same size). This casino is also only as big as it is because it is located darn near the middle of Tacoma right off the highway. Unfortunately, there is not much of a reason to play here.

The blackjack game has lousy rules (8-decks, dealer hits soft 17, no double after split, no surrender, no resplit aces).

DO NOT PLAY VIDEO POKER in WA. Or at least realize you are not really playing video poker, but rather a slot machine that is disguised to look like video poker.

The payoffs on the machines are truly random and not dependent on your skill in holding the correct cards. See the WA State Gaming website for more info.

The restaurant was unimpressive when I ate there. I had copper river salmon in season which is supposed to be a delicacy, but I was not impressed with the preparation or quality.

This casino doesn't even have a poker room. They are more interested in getting as much money off of the locals as fast as they can with crappy odds and rules. Go play at some of the other smaller local joints of you want to actually gamble (otherwise it is just a donation.)
