I had some trouble with a printed voucher.......WOW!! I waited over 25minutes for some "slots" goof to finally accept it. DO NOT get a bad voucher you'll wait for ever with these dummies. Food court only served chicken and fries, but no breakfast during morning hours WTF!! This place is slightly better than The Rivers casino and frankly that's NOT saying much. DO WHAT MY WIFE AND I ARE GOING TO DO...........GO TO REAL CASINOS IN ATLANTIC CITY AND LAS VEGAS !!!

The Meadows: Worst casino I've been in

This casino is only a half hour drive away, which makes my experiences there all the more disappointing. The new facility is a step up from Wheeling Island, but it still pales in comparison to places like Dover Downs in Delaware or some of the casinos up in New York. The selection of slots is quite poor. They have many banks of unpopular machines that sit empty while the more popular games are few in number and always crowded. For example, two Goldfish slots in the entire facility, which is one of the hottest games going right now.

This is also the tightest casino I've ever visited, and my wife and I have been in them all from Delaware to New York and over to Michigan. That's not only our experience but also our observation that we don't see as many people cashing tickets at The Meadows compared to other casinos. We were in three different Delaware casinos recently where Deal or No Deal was popular and loose, but at The Meadows it's tight and you rarely see more than two or three people at the bank of a dozen machines.

Trying to get a soft drink while you play is difficult unless you're sitting near one of the few areas where the servers frequent. I never see them in most parts of the casino. I was playing near the bar the other night and flagged someone down, but she never returned with my Coke.

You're also more likely to find a security guard walking around than casino staff, but fortunately I haven't had any machines malfunction on me. Although, this casino had a power outage about a month ago (a new casino without proper generator backup?) and word is they offered the patrons a bag of potato chips to stick around for hours while they tried to get the machines back up. Classy, LOL!

The Meadows: Love it!

First trip to the new permanent casino today (had been to the temporary one 3 times before). It's a 2-hour trip for us from OH and worth every minute. I was impressed with the temporary casino, but this one is going to be hard to top.

There were lots and lots of people there--and yet I could find machines to play on and rarely had to wait to use my "favorites." I also enjoyed trying some of the newer games that I wasn't familiar with.

I love the fact that there are so many low-denomination machines--for us "poor folk" who just want to have a little fun. We can play a long time on very little $. Had lunch at the Terrace Cafe, and we loved the view overlooking the racetrack which happened to be racing today. Had a $5 coupon as a promotion for lunch, so it virtually paid for lunch.

I had one machine that wasn't functioning, and I did have trouble locating an attendant (the machine wouldn't give me my voucher!). It finally blinked, and I quickly punched the Cash Out button again, and it finally spit it out. However, I never was able to find an attendant. There were a number of waitpersons all over the casino offering drinks all day, and they were very attentive.

The restrooms were clean and tended to regularly. Unless I didn't find them all, there would be a few more (and the ones I did find--the Men's and Women's were reversed from the other one; i.e., Men on the right, Women on the left at one restroom site; Women on the right, Men on the left at the other. In five minutes, I watched 5 people go into the wrong restroom! Small thing, as we should all be able to read, but it obviously is an issue of that many people make the same mistake in a short period of time.

It's a beautiful casino. It would be nice if they had a hotel with pool(s) at the site, but I understand the need for a parking deck instead of a hotel.

The Meadows: To avoid the West Virginia Casino crisis

When The Meadows initially opened, it was great. The slot machines were loose, and The Meadows were substantiating a beautiful profit with a descent percent payout. I realize that the casinos are in business to make money! Why must there be an extreme amount of greed on the part of the state regulations to lower the payout? Look what happened to the West Virginia casinos! Will The Meadows fall as they did when the new casino opens in Pittsburgh?

The Meadows: how much did the meadows pay 2 write good things a

Very funny, it started off with bad reviews and now that the new casino is about to open up the reviews are gettin good. Who wants to bet that these are the workers or people on the inside trying to make it like they have a good casino cause this place got tighter and tighter?

The drinks are supposed to be free, but if you don't tip them they will just stand there and stare at you like wheres my tip for the longest time. All the workers should tell brad pitt, robert deniro, samuel jackson and brittney spears to come down and join them because the workers think they are movie stars and they are starring in a big hit movie about a big tight casino.

This is really a nice facility for a temporary casino (the permanent one is scheduled to open in spring 2009). The attendants are very attentive to troubles, the casino is well lit, shuttle service is convenient and the rewards program is fabulous. There are constant promotions and credits in increments of $5-$30 arriving in the mail at all times. We can't wait until the permanent casino opens !

The Meadows: best casino around

This is a much better casino than the ones in West Virginia. The slots are much better, and you usually get to play longer for your money. West Virginia slots are very tight. My husband and I quit going there.

We now only go to the meadows. It is closer, and even though we don't win wherever we go we do get to play longer at the meadows. The only complaint I have is not having a bigger non-smoking section. It really isn't fair that the smokers always have the biggest rooms. It is very inconsiderate of a smoker to sit down and start blowing smoke in your face, when at the time you sat down there was no one sitting on either side of you. They don't even have the decency to ask you if you mind if they smoke. I still think if a casino was all non-smoking that business would be as good as if there was smoking, because there are alot of people that don't smoke that like to gamble. My husband and I can't wait til the new one opens.

The Meadows: Reviewing the Reviews

February 4, 2009

Three of the reviews were dated "1999' (Say what?); two gave 4-star ratings for "table games" (Not yet!). I also found it odd to give
4-stars for "amenities and hotel" since the hotel isn't built yet.

To post a review, a person has to fill out all ratings categories. That's why I gave "ones" in two categories when "NA" would have been applicable

This said, I find the video poker in all denominations to be better than the ones in near WV.

The only nice thing is the non-smoking sections. This place is so tight i'd honestly rather look at the grass it once stood on. The workers there think they own the place and are working in hollywood. Well, guess what? They're not. They're working in the tightest casino i have ever stepped foot in.

I lost so much money at this place, of course if you're old or know someone they may let you win. That seems to be the way it goes up there, the waitresses are so annoying especially the one that yells.....DRINKKss....DRINKKKKssss. You will hear it if you're there.

I recommend turning your car around and heading for W.V. I know i will now... i hit several jackpots at Wheeling. NONE at the Meadows, although the new casino will be nice, but GUARANTEE YOU, ITS STILL TIGHT.......
