Chinook Winds Casino Resort: Not so good!

This casino needs a new work over. A lot of the machines were old and the reels would actually catch when spinning. The chairs, floor and machines were dirty and sticky. I actually stopped playing a few machines because I could not stand to touch them. The staff never smiled even when I said hello. I was actually ignored a couple of times. This casino is so below what it could be, not at all like Lucky Eagle for instance and that it is a shame. The potential is certainly there. We will not be returning to your casino.

Chinook Winds Casino Resort: Very Disappointed

I went on a "road trip" from PDX to the casino for a 4 hour stay with a friend of mine. The slots didn't pay well at all. It's very difficult to get a 50 cent win on a dollar bet. I don't know much about "chance of winning", but these slots paid less frequentely than Spirit Mt. (amazing buffet, by the way) or Lucky Eagle. The lunch buffet was HORRIBLE. Like the ratings below, the food was overcooked, not replenished in time to try some of the offerings. There wasn't much of a selection and the salad bar was messy with spilled dressing and vegetables. The floor was a nightmare. My friends and I go gambling for fun about once every 4-6 weeks...we will not go there again. Sorry, Chinook Winds.

Chinook Winds Casino Resort: BAD STAY

We arrived with high hopes and we were rewarded with an exellent beach. After that it went steadily downhill. We came around supper time and tried the buffet, it was grubby and the variety was very poor. The food quality was poor and it was left out far too long without being replenished.

We were just as disapointed to learn the potatoes are instant and the fish is farmed, what a disgrace. After dinner we went to our teeny tiny room about 10 feet by 11 feet, no closet and with very few amenities.

I kid you not, it was very reminicent of a low end motel. Oh well, back to the casino. I did win on the tables but the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. The air quality was poor and the whole area was not very clean, BUT HEY THE BEACH WAS A 10

Chinook Winds Casino Resort: At first glance

At first glance when we walked in it seemed to be a decent establishment. We had quite a drive and needed the use of the toilet facilities. The toilets were clean and the room smelled clean much more than I can say for the rest of the casino.

We wanted a bite for lunch and stopped at a fast food type spot in the casino. Not knowing until later that there is a buffet on the second floor we ordered and found a table. We could not find a table that had been wiped or clean. We used wet napkins to clean our table before we could enjoy our meal.

We spent the next few hours losing on the slot games. The people who make change took a long time to come around after pushing the service button on the game. I found her to be rather rude once she did come to our game to give us change.

We left the building to walk on the beach and went back inside towards the evening. It was somewhat busier and we were hungry again. We went to the buffet area to eat this time and got right in. The service was fabulous but the food left much to be desired.

There were two food lines but the same food items on both. I found lack of variety and choice. Some of the food items were not warm so must have sat in place for a bit of time.

After eating we went for a stroll but did not play any more games because the first game I tried my bill got stuck and nobody ever came to help us. It was only a dollar but it drained my desire to play any more. Overall, I would think again before going back.

Chinook Winds Casino Resort: CLEANUP TIME

Last time I ate your buffet it was terrible and dirty, there was food on the floor and spilled in front of the hot food on counter. All the hot dishes and fresh salads were almost empty and not refilled in the 45 minutes I was there.

As for the slots, not too bad, I've been there many times and not won a dime but also have won quite a bit on other occassions, luck of the draw I guess. The casino is looking pretty sad. Time to clean up and remodel and for pity sakes hire someone who knows how to operate your buffet, providing good food and a clean area, especially for what it costs I don't mind paying for it if it is worth it.

We won't be going back to this casino. Odds of winning are terrible.

There is no minimum payback percentage required on the Tribe's machines.

Tables and slots fair.
