Not worth the trip, Friday, 02 October 2009 Written by L Page A trip to Potowatomi is only 30 minutes for us and another 30 and between my husband and I $200 if flown out the window would have done more good. After pouring $40 to $100 in any machine it does not even yield a bonus in order to have a slightly good time. The buffet is too expensive and the food is poor quality. The incentives that are sent in the mail are so filled with restrictions and regulations that by the time you finish reading them you have no clue what they have said and cannot participate on their terms, most machines require too high quantities of coins to play, not enough penny and two cent, too much smoke, rude clientele and customer service, what is it anyway. I would expect to be treated quite well for the money we have poured into that place. Customer lines are long with 1/2 hour waits and no one cares. Like Reggie, we too have had it and hope we keep our promise to ourselves not to step foot in that place again. I'd rather travel 2 hours and have some fun at least if I don't end up with much so I would have had fun playing anyway. it is a crime the way they haul the seniors in there and watch them pull their last dollar out of their purse and play it as if they will win a million and they go home broke. The Lord in his mercy should make the walls come tumbling down. .............no more for me either.

way below average, Thursday, 17 September 2009 Written by reggieG the entire place is so smokey that a non-smoker trulely can't enjoy themselves. Customer service is almost non-existant. Since they are more or less a "monopoly" they have no reason to improve. one good point is the food in Dream Dance and the Sports Bar.........really excellent. But even the food isn't enough of a reason for me to return. These opinions are based on many, many visits to the casino...........but no more 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful
Tight Slots, Wednesday, 17 June 2009 Written by BRUCE R LEMKE
Not enought penny slots. The low end slots have too many multiple lines.

What a rip off!, Wednesday, 13 May 2009 Written by Karen The casino itself is beautiful. That's the only good thing I have to say. The new buffet is terrible - will never go back. Not enough one-cent machines, far too many high denomination machines that sit empty. Who wants to play a multi-line $5.00 machine with 20 lines? Let's face it, we don't go in any casino with high expectations of a big win. However, to expect to have playing time on $20 isn't unreasonable to ask. You can sit in Las Vegas on a penny machine for hours, have your machine go way up in credits and then blow it all - but you have fun doing it and walk away satisfied that you had some nice hits. Potowatomi? Forget it ... put a $20 in any machine, play for maybe 5 minutes and find you haven't had a hit, a bonus round -- nothing! Your money is gone just like that! You may as well throw you money directly in the toilet because you're not going to have a fun experience here. Wake up Potowatomi -- you need to install at least 300 or more 1 cent machines and get rid of all the 2 cent & 5 cent machines. At least on a penny machine you have room to play for a long time (and they get your money anyway) but at least you won't have empty machines everywhere! 1 of 2 people found the following review helpful
The worst casino I've ever been to, Sunday, 10 May 2009 Written by Cocoa the Monkey I will never go back there. I will also do anything in my power to discourage people from going there. A stinky place, smokers are blowing at your face, no smoking gambling areas practically do not exist. Slots just dont pay. If you need any help from the stuff, get ready to wait. Then observe slowly mowing chatting and having fun people who "work" there. Jammed ticket will take at least 30 minutes to recover. I did not see such a poor service anywhere else. A place where I never actually see slot players being paid. I saw though blackjack players asked to leave, because they won something...

Scammed again, Wednesday, 22 April 2009 Written by Robert Berzin Cannot believe what these people just pulled off this past Sunday(4-19).They heavily advertised(via email and US Mail) 10X points between 7 and 9 AM. The place was packed..expected that..Over 25% of the machines were "out of service". What a blatant crock of crap. They were bascially forcing you to play larger denomination machines of their choice. And they had table games sitting there empty because they were 10-25 dollar minimums. Dealers standing there doing nothing. HELLO management. Change the minimums on these table games and you will rip off even more people! This whole slot thing really has me miffed! I cannot believe so many people continually put up with this crap! I am totally done..Tore up my players card and requested no more emails from Potawatomi..Stands for "you come, we take"!!!! 2 of 4 people found the following review helpful
remodel a success, Monday, 20 April 2009 Written by Dwane Since the most recent remodel, the casino is much more open and more comfortable to gamble in. My wife and I played slots all evening and walked away with $200 plus paid for our meal. The sports pub and grill in the casino is nothing to brag about. I had to return my beer because it tasted skunky. The waitress was nice, but the hostess was rude. We had a great time, but would have like to play more table games. The tables on the weekends are rediculously overcrowded. Hence our slot play. We usually hit this casino about twice a year. Parking is easy and casino is accessible from multiple freeways. Good luck gambling. 8 of 9 people found the following review helpful

DISGUSTED, Tuesday, 30 December 2008 Written by RMB It is a dirty shame that this is the closest casino to my home. I must say, the new expanded casino is beautiful and the food at the Sports Bar is fantastic (best eggs I've ever had!) And no more smoke smells when I get home. But that is where it stops! Absolutely the worst paying machines I've played in years! You can sit there at a 25-cent machine, put in $20 and get spin after spin after spin with a blank on the first reel. This is, in my eyes, unacceptable. Even in the swankiest place in Vegas, you can at least get a few decent hits for your $20. There are other spots in Wisconsin that are much better for your dollar...I'm giving this place up for good!

buffet review, Sunday, 09 November 2008 Written by JEROME ANDERSON
First of all this is my least favorite casino I have ever played in, in comparison with the other casinos located in both Wis and Mich. All machines have a very low payout, and most customers are very rude. However, the American center has all of the other selections-- steak, ribs, crab legs, shrimp, shrimp sauce, potatoes, etc. You can not go up and pick up one or two items like you were able to do in the old layout, but instead must stand in lines of a min of 30 -45 min to obtain anything. Last time we were there several people started a line at the opposite end as they only wanted crab legs and a fight nearly broke out, resulting in a number of security people being called to restore order. The previous arrangement of having two areas for crab legs, a separate island for baked potatos, etc, and another areas for meats, mashed potatoes, gravies, etc. worked out much better.
In some cases I believe they are trying to imitate the Vegas layouts, but do not have sufficient areas or personnel to handle the people. There is no reason why a person needs to stand in line for one or two items and have to wait more than possibly 5 minutes.

CAUTION, Tuesday, 30 November 1999 Written by big o 15 of 17 people found the following review helpful
We won't go back here..., Tuesday, 30 November 1999 Written by AnnieA Overall: Atmosphere Value First, let me say that my review is based on dozens and dozens of visits to Potawatomi over the years. I will, however, never go there again. Responding on the basis of slot machines only, Potawatomi casino is the smokiest and worst paying casino I've ever been in, with the exception of Aztar, Carruthers, Mo. They have many older nickel video slots and quarter and dollar reel slots. No pennies or two centers. There are banks and banks of slots that sit unplayed because the payout percentage is so low. There are far too many machines that have 30 or 40 or even 100 lines. I have run through 20 or 30 dollars without ever getting a hit of more than I bet, much less a bonus. Of course, Indian casinos are not required to publish the payouts their machines are set at, but I would venture to guess that Potawatomi orders the absolute lowest payback the slot machine company makes. When I go, during the week, there are always people just lounging idly on the stools because they have long ago run out of money, and they are probably just waiting for the bus to take them out of the casino. The people working in the cages are usually blabbing a mile a minute to each other, and you often have to tell them twice what denomination bills you want in change. They are too busy blabbing to pay attention. They act as if you are an interruption to their social lives. And the worst thing? The Potawatomi are doing their absolute best to block the construction of a casino in Kenosha. Because they know that if it opened, multitudes of their captive patrons would vacate the premises, never to return. If I were running this casino, I wouldn't be able to sleep nights knowing how much I have bilked the people of Milwaukee. OK, I can recommend one and only one thing about this place, and that is the sports bar (which is separately owned and operated) The food is wonderful. Try the reuben sandwich. And you might consider splitting the sandwiches. They are enormous. |
