rip off
This place is a scam, can't win. Machines are tight, smoke is terrible, players club is a joke. I live in bensalem i will drive the two hours to atlantic city. At least i can get a free room and better food, the Sands in Bethelem blows this place away
smokie, horrible tight casino
I have always played at Philly Park casino until now, the new Parx casino is very nice to look at, but go inside and you die of the smoke filled air. They put all this money into this casino and nothing into the ventilation, and no designated smoking and non-smoking sections, you have to put your card into the slot to see if you can smoke or not and nobody cares and nobody looks at this. Everywhere you look there is a haze over the whole place. The last time I was there I had to leave to go home and put a cold compress on my eyes, they were burning and bright red and I have no problem with my eyes, they even hurt for two days after I was there. And talk about tight----the machines are horrible, I had 45 free spins which should have given me at least $90-$100., and I got $10 - really!!! I put a lot of $20 bills into the slots with not one win in return---how tight are the machines????? I will go to Delaware park to play from now on --- no smoking, clean and not so tight slots, I don't mind the drive because my health is more important to me.
Parx Casino
There are only machine games. The odds are horrible. The blackjack tables really never do pay out. As far as the players club goes I think that having those dumb cards in a machine just lets the casino know how much money they have gotten out of you. I am a dumb ass and have been to this place many times and in the many hours I have spent here I have never once heard anyone yell out of excitement from a huge win. Talking about the customer service, forget about it. My girlfriend lost a lot of money because some drunk person was pushing buttons on her roulette machine and the place did nothing. She lost around 1,000! Best advice when going here is if you get lucky and you're up 100 or more leave at that very second. The most I ever left there with was 500-600 but I came with 300. There are winners but I would like to know the actual percentage as a whole this casino actually pays out. I cant wait for the table games to come sometime this year so I don't feel completely, and I mean this literally, robbed when I walk out of there.
THIS PLACE IS THE WORST!
I've been to this dump a few times and it is the worst! I live in Jersey and I would rather travel to CT to foxwoods than go back to this awful place. The winning part does not even matter to me its the all around service that sucks to me and the drinks are terrible!
You cant win here
The blackjack machines at this place destroy people. I have never seen people win on these machines. The only results I have ever seen at this place is people steadily pumping twentys into the blackjack machines one after another. Situations constantly happening like players getting beat by twenty one in the hole...players who get dealt twentys. Other times players will not get good hands......ever.....ten....twenty bad hands in a row!!!!!!!!! And the dealer's getting blackjack.......non-stop. I've see four in five hands. This place has the odds so low on their machines. It's amazing I or anyone goes back to this stinky smokey as a house on fire, greasy pit. I took the time to drive to A.C. and my blackjack results at the tables with six decks and a dealer were way different......I got more blackjacks than the dealer...and left with $260. Philly Park double down on an eleven facing a six.....you get a three and the dealer somehow makes an amazing twenty.....six, flip a ten...ohhhhh a four!!!!!!! how lucky for the house!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This place has only one redeeming quality....those Bucks County girls working there are the hottest I've ever seen at any casino!!!!!!!!
its not a fare share games not even close!
i came back to this casino after a long time, but i was in deep disappointment from the way those slot machines swallow my $160 in no time.
I know if you play you expect to lose but losing in a mater of less then 10 minutes is just a complete rip off. At least if they give and take you would not be so sad about it, but instead those machines only take and keep on taking. Giving is out of the question.
Rarely you get a hit. Bonus plays that pay almost nothing. No wonder the place is not crowded on Friday night like it use to be when they opened. I guss people figured it out. Since it's like this I decided to stop going back to this place and find something else to have fun and spend wisely.
philly park rips you off
First off, I have to say something about Rochelle Smiths comment on phila park ripping off black people. What makes you think they only target you? I am white and after winning the first 3 times after it just opened, I have never won again. Maybe I lost because I was wearing a phillies cap- which would be just as stupid a comment as the one you made about losing because you are african american. Like they really sit around all day just looking for black people to screw over. Hey-heres a news flash, all the machines have been tightened up and most people that go in there end up losing.
The first 3 times i went there i won $5000 playing blackjack when it first opened. I believe they lured people in there keeping the odds fair. But since then, for like, the next 20 trips- i have not had a winning day since. Once, on a $5 table i put in $200 and lost it in like 5 minutes losing every hand. And it is the way you lose too that is frustrating. If you get a 7 and a 4 and go to double down, you will NEVER get a 10-you will always get a 3 or 4.
I have not been back there in like a year because I feel there is no point since i think the BJ tables are rigged.
are you kidding me.
first of all there is no competition in the area so this the only casino you can deposit your hard earn cash into.? I lost so much in this casino it's beyond believe, never again. I stoped playing so no more earnings from me. And a second thing is they know people don't like to walk a mile to get to the casino floor. They get you exhausted so you just wanna sit down and empty your pockets quickly so you can go home and relax those sore joints and muscles. Next time if I ever think to go there I am gonna rent electric handicap chair so it will be a lot easier for me to get there LOL!!
Philadelphia Park and Casino is a joke
I wish it was never built. All this casino does is take, take, take. I am african american and I have never seen an afriican american win. Now, I am not a bum living in a cheap apartment in the neighborhood. I have a single new home over $400,000, drive a jaguar and own 1/2 acre of land. I came in when you first opened, but I keep losing so much I stop.
Then you start sending me invitations to come out, talking about every ten minutes you win. Well I didn't win s___t. Another clever trick. I am tired of goingthere.? I even rented a limo and brought seven of my girlfriends and one even stopped talking to me.
We are planning to go to Harrah's in Chester, Pa and then back to Atlantic City. I am even thinking about writing to the township about this. I feel a little predudice going on. Only the younger and older caucasian people seem to be lucky. It's a shame for me because I only live fiive to ten minutes away. You know you're not going to win all the time but god____ let a sister have a big win once in a while, it would feel good.
I will try once more, but if it turns out to be another scam... Harrah's in Chester, Pa here I come baby, and Caesars in Atlantic City I love you too, you have been good to me too.
That's all I have to say and by the way, the 5 dollar free play you give me me weekly? Please keep it. It's an insult to me and I'd rather not have it. Please give it to someone else.
PHILA PARK CASINO
I have been going to Phila Park ever since it first opened. At this point in time I agree with all of the other reviews. You cannot win.
You bet $2.00 at one time and maybe get back 20 cents. Payouts are nonexistant. Never enough people at the cashier windows. It takes twenty minutes to get a drink when you are on the slots.
I can go through $200 in twenty minutes just waiting for a drink! They do need to get their act together and act more professional.
Can't win here
I agree with those that say you can't win here. I have spent literally hundreds of dollars playing the limited video poker machines with practically no payout. No wonder their revenue is up. They're stealing everyone's money!
Also, the cigarette smoke is so thick, I lost my voice. Very stuffy and crowded. Availability of food is a joke, and what there is, is greasy and the line is long. Will not return.
yuk! Worst place we ever played.
This is a horrible 'casino'. The parking lot is disgusting. It is outside - old and broken down as well as filled with trash. You have to walk a very long distance to get inside the casino. At night, many of the overhead lights are out making it dangerous and scary.
Inside, there are 2 floors stuffed with machines. They say there are places to eat, but we could not find them. Last year, there was a buffet on the 2nd floor, but they took that out and replaced it with more machines. When it was in operation, we ate there a few times. They had a very limited food selection and most of the times one of the few main courses was no longer available. The food was average.
As for the casino, the machines are extremely tight! It is very rare that you have any kind of hit on a machine and it is usually a small one. My guess is that Phila Park has all their machines set for the minimum allowable payback of 85% which is much lower than LV, AC and most other state's casinos, which generally run in the 90-95%.
We even tried the electronic BlackJack tables. They too operated in a 'more take than give' mode and many times it appeared as if the decks were 'rigged' in favor of the dealer. I suspect they have dramatically reduced the programmed payout percentages, as BJ is typically about a 98% payback game in a real casino.
The total lack of any kind of winnings make for a miserable experience.
All of the machines are coinless - they have the ticket printers. But trying to cash one of these things is like pulling teeth. Most of the cash machines that accept the tickets are broken, forcing you to hunt down one of the few people-staffed cages.
Phila Park is now building a new stand-alone casino as part of their agreement to obtaining their license (although they attempted to renig on this promise). I suspect not much will change there as they will simply move all the equipment and employees to the new building.
Everyone I know has stated that they will never visit there again.
Gaming board need to checkout this place
I have been playing at this casino ever since it opened. There were frequent pay outs from the machines and? i think they did this to catch the people, now that they have the people they turn off the win switch.
I personally think the gaming board needs to do a surprise check on this casino and its books to see how often and how many winners they have for the month. You take $100.00 and in 20 mins. you lose everything without any profit, thats a Damn Shame!!!!
Disappointment
Best part was the steak restaurant rather nice and good food. The parking lot is a disaster with huge pot holes, broken glass and trash all around. Place is dirty, stuffy and smells bad. The upstairs floor was ok. The attendants were pretty good and most were friendly. Security guards seem almost nonexistent in and outside the place.
This place is a poor excuse for a "new" Pennsylvania Casino. They are supposed to build another Casino which is to be completed by the end of 2009 in progress the same grounds. If it is anything like the Casino there now then don't bother and just bulldoze both of them.
Get rid of the indoor smoking, fix the freaking parking lot, hire security guards, get some new slot machines that don't look like hand downs from other casinos, hire a cleaning staff for the floors and bathrooms, get rid of the trash cans sitting all around by machines, get a computer system that works so the cash out machines and slot machines stop rejecting tickets. The people in charge of this place need to visit other area Casinos that are real classy and take notes!!!
If you Philly Parks Casino operation and management get your act together send all members a generous amount free slot play and ask if they might come back and see the new class operation!
One other thing. When it's Christmas time put up a Christmas tree (with decorations, at least one tree) and decorate the place.
Enjoyed the casino in October 2008
We were passing through Philadelphia and decided to stop at the casino. We found it online and pre-registered for our players club card before we got there.
We got there about a half-hour before the club opened on a Sunday morning. A staff member was kind enough to give us our players club along with our bonus shortly before the opening time.
We found that they had most of the machines found in Vegas and other casinos. My wife was lucky enough to win a small profit while i broke about even. The atmosphere was great and all of the staff was extremely kind. we were not there long enough to eat.
If we are in that area again we will make a point of stopping by again. Since we have been back in Cleveland, Ohio we have received a number of offers from them which are as good as any from some of the major casinos.
I thought it was nice at Philadelphia park
I thougfht it was actually classy for a machine only casino. They offer a variety of slot and poker machines aswell as roulette machines and those machine table games.
They had a nice bar and a really lively crowd. The table games were missing, other than that not far off from a normal casino.
legalized robbery
Philadelphia Park Casino is a poor example of a casino. First of all, you are forced to park outside and walk quite a distance.
Once inside, the converted horse ractrack is stuffed with many slot machines and little of anything else. The service is relatively poor. You do not see a security presence and the waitstaff appears very infrequently and sports an attitude. The worst part of the place is the horrible choice of gaming machines.
There are very few 'reasonably priced' machines. Most of them are higher denomination or multiple coin machines. You get the idea they are attempting to get rich quick.
The final insult is the extremely low hit rate on the machines. We normally play at Atlantic City where the payouts are not the greatest, but somewhat acceptable. But at Phila Park, it is like someone turned off the 'win' switch.
You can play for hours on the same machine and be rewarded with nothing more than a few credits by getting a Cherry once in a blue moon. The hit rates are so infrequent that it is not enjoyable to play there.
The management at this place must be very inexperienced at gaming. Once the word gets out that Philadelphia Park has poor payback rates, they will lose most of their customers. Greed does NOT pay.
Not Good.
I have never lost so much money so quickly.
The people park like animals. I have never seen so many people park in the striped corners of the lot, where you are not supposed to park. People also park in between handicapped spaces.
I was hoping I would like this place as it is the second closest casino to where I live in Norhteast NJ.
I drove to Harrah's Chester and played for 7 hours. Not only did I not lose money I won back half of what I had lost at this dump.
