Total stingy casino, Saturday, 17 October 2009 Written by Carla I have been going to the Oklahoma casinos for about 4 years now. I used to go to Windstar because I live in Plano and it was closer, or seemed closer, than Choctaw. But when Windstar remodeled and became larger than the law should allow, the jackpots became smaller and smaller. So I started to go to Choctaw and I spend a lot of money - I mean a LOT and I have noticed that the main slots I would play which are mr. moneybags, liberty 7's, gems and jewels and all those in the high roller area, are not paying nearly as much as they used to. This seems to be since the casino shut down a couple months ago to reset and re microchip the machines. Many regulars talk - we are all like a big club of 'friends' - everyone mentioned that the slots are not paying like they used to. That is what keeps up coming back - the fun of playing and winning. Most of the time we avid players will put most of the money back, but the winning was at least mutual - win some, play some back in, win some, play some back in. Now it is just play back in and don't win as much. I have lost a couple thousand in a day playing machines that would usually hit a jackpot or accumulate a nice sizeable amount but it is just not happening anymore. I know the Choctaw people think that we will still come because we are all hooked and gambling addicts - but remember this people - a crack head does not go the same crack dealer if the crack does not get him high anymore - think about that you Choctaw owners - you will see a huge drop in business just like Winstar.

TOO TIGHT, Saturday, 18 July 2009 Written by Karen Sherman I have been going to Choctaw in Durant for couple of years now. When they built the new casino by the 75 highway, it was great. The slots were paying half way good. BUT, now since they are building the new one this casino has really gotten tight. Yes, they are in the business of making money, but when you put $100 in different slot machines and if you get back $20 you're doing good. They have also been getting fined at the end of the month for NOT paying out the jackpots they are suppose to. I have been on various internet sites, as well as talked to the locals and they have even said Choctaw would rather pay the FINE than payout on the machines. Do they not know this will run off TEXAS customers? The internet spreads bad reviews very fast. I dont mind losing money BUT when you play several machines and get nothing this is not FUN. Pretty much the only machines that do hit are the $25 slot machines. The same machine will hit over and over again. I figure if these people can afford to play the $25 machines they can afford to lose some. If you want to stay in business with the NEW hotel and casino coming, you're going to have to loosen up the slots, or you willl end up like Winstar. THEY got too large and have too big of an overhead now and you can't win anything there either.I thought Shrevport was tight, but Oklahoma casinos take the cake as well. It would be nice just to be able to play for a while and get SOME money back just so you could keep playing for a while and have some fun. When you get so large you have too big of an overhead, having to pay these high end entertainers, plus more help etc... I am coming to play the slots, not watch entertainment. It's a shame because handled the right way these Oklahoma casinos could make large amounts of money AND payout to the customers at the same time to keep them coming back. Thanks for the chance to voice my opinion.

not happy with Durant choctaw, Sunday, 05 July 2009 Written by sandy My husband and I are senior citizens who frequent Choctaw one to two times a week. We noticie that the older casino is tightening down its machines and we lose even more playing there. Before the new hotel/casino began, the older part of the casino did pay off pretty decently. Last two or so years it has been really bad. One way of telling winnings, besides visually, is the sounds of the slots, which too often are quiet. This is how the jackpots gets so high. I for one am not sure if a jackpot is won. We are there alot when it disappears off the Royal Reels, but see no one actually getting it. So I think maybe it's just a number that keeps adding up getting people to drop all their money into the machines. I played them many times and can't even get credits back to play on for a bit. It is sucked it up in a few seconds.. This is every time. Now, the newer casino seems to have taken up the same habit of tightening down the machines. I can also watch the spins on the slots. When it flickers, it changes the playing mode, and to top it off, last night at the fireworks show (which we ended up not watching) we were parked in a close handicap parking. My husband can't walk far at a time and can't stand without pain. We were sitting in the back of our van thinking, finally, we had a great spot to see. Only to be told by a pissy little young security walking around that we had to stand outside the car or sit on the ground, or we would be loitering. I couldnt believe this. they said it was so there would be no one getting broken into. The more they talked the more ridiculous it got. At our age, they were making us stand or sit on the ground if we were to watch the fireworks. so by then we weren't interested in them. Im just about ready to take our business back to Bossier City.

Not much fun, Monday, 25 May 2009 Written by ex-Okiegambler Eateries are way over-priced. Customer service is lacking. I waited for 3 hours because the slots went down. After they got them going again (they all reset because someone hit a big jackpot) I still had to wait another hour to get machine reset. Slots are tight and you have to pay to play table games. 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful
