The hotel rooms are still clean and serviceable, but will need updating soon! Otherwise, I can't complain, as the Horseshoe SI has friendly staff, and is my favorite place to play Video Poker in Indiana. I've had way more luck here over the years than any other casino, even when compared to LV properties. I agree with many previous reviews in that there should be free drinks in Indiana casinos, but I don't think that will ever happen in this state. Good VP, great drink service and friendly staff. The only downside for me is the high table game limits. I like to play $5 or $10 blackjack, which is almost impossible to find, especially on weekends. However, as long as they have decent VP, I'll keep going back.

They want you there every day and send Diamond players some offer almost every day in the mail. From a cheap T shirt to a Crock Pot, the gifts run the gambit of junk. Most of the employees are top notch, very friendly and helpful.

If you have a Good Casino Host, they will bend over backwards to accommodate you. Problem is, just when things are rolling along, the Host either quits or gets fired.

The food in the Diamond lounge at nights is some of the cheapest and unappetizing in Southern Indiana.

The Jack Binion's Steak House Chef, Josh, is excellent and has finally started to improve what has to have been the worst buffet in America.

The VIP partys are usually top notch with great food and free drinks. On a couple of occasions they have been poor. The servers at the events again go all out to serve you.

The poker room has 30 tables I think and the dealers are a good group. However, they run what they call "Free Roll" tournaments and they do not give anywhere near the amount of money that is advertised, but entry fees into another game which is BS.

Previous comments about the hotel are true. It is a dump with sewage back up if you stay on the first floor down by the elevators to the pool. I think I spent my 2??.

Extremely disappointed with new management. Slots appear to be very tight. Table games are ridiculous. Except for $50 tables, dealers hit on soft 17 in blackjack. This is, of course, the surest sign of a greedy casino.

Doubledeck blackjack allows doubledown on any two cards at $50 table, but only 10 or 11 at lesser tables. Only one or two $25 tables. Player club food is very cheap and lousy.

Rooms are rarely clean and even the employees do not like working here. Other tables games are craps and carnival stuff. You can just plan on losing money.

This casino is really going down hill, Hardly any floor or cage workers. The ticket machines also seem to be out of order and maybe 2 cages open with only a couple overworked and rude workers.

We were weekly caesars indiana diamond players The hotel rooms are so dirty we WILL not stay there anymore.

I live an hour away from this Hotel. This is only one downfall I find and that is there is nothing else around it. You have your Casino and the Hotel and that's it..

I haven't seen the new renovations yet but anxious to go and check it all out. I heard it was very nice. The new poker room where all the WSOP events are especially.

I loved the slots there, always did pretty good on them. Drink service was good but no FREE drinks which I wish they would change. Ate at a couple of the restaurants and also pretty good.

The players club which is Total Rewards is always good and usually get mail from there all the time with great deals.. Plus they are always having giveaways on something.

I would recommend anyone if in the area to check out this casino.. Its a fun place to go to to either play Poker, play the Slots, or go for their Entertainmen which they have some great headliners!

2008 - July 27

The property recently underwent a $53 million renovation before the name change from Caesars Indiana to Horseshoe Southern Indiana this month. The only downside is that the hotel hasn't seen much, if any, of those dollars at this time.

Great VP paytables -- lots of quarter 9/6 JOB. Fun slots. Nice people. Bit of a drive for us, but worth it.

When we went here, we did pretty well considering we took $300 with us to gamble, and still came home with $200, but most of the slots seemed tight.

I spent a lot of time at the quarter video poker machine. I also wish they delivered FREE drinks like Vegas, but that is the gaming commission's fault, not the casinos. All in all, fun for a night out.
